A press briefing was held in the main pavilion of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy

On the 2nd of September, 2010 in the new mobile pavilion built on the territory of Yaroslav's Court was held a press briefing on the forthcoming opening of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy. The event was attended by the First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod region Alexander Gabitov, the Chairman of the Committee of Culture and Youth Policy of Velikiy Novgorod Olga Popova and the Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy Alexey Shaburov.

The press briefing was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Culture, Tourism and archives Novgorod region Olga Soboleva, who briefly told reporters about the project, presented the guests on the podium and gave each of them the word.

Alexander Gabitov noted that Velikiy Novgorod will host such a unique project for the first time, and on behalf of the Governor of the Novgorod region, S.G. Mitin expressed appreciation to the organizers. Olga Popova talked about the help of MVK International Exhibition Company in the preparing of the concert program, and also recalled that from the 11th to 12ve of September of the exhibition will take place the project "Night of Museums" to be held together with the Novgorod State United open air Museum.

Then Alexey Shaburov took the floor and was answering questions from journalists for half an hour. The Project manager noted that the venue of the exhibition was not chosen by chance, since the writing was born in Velikiy Novgorod and the first birchbarks were found also in this area. According to Alexey Shaburov, calligraphic paintings, materials and tools for handwriting, exhibits from the Guinness Book of Records will be presented at the exhibition.

Alexey Yurievich told about some unique exhibits, which visitors can admire there - the Golden Quran, the Tsar-mezuzah, the first handwritten Constitution of Russia. The exhibition Director noted that Velikiy Novgorod is an extraordinarily beautiful city and the opportunity to present the exhibition there was liked by the whole team of the project. With the help of mass media Alexey Shaburov invited all residents and guests of the city to the exhibition, promising an unforgettable experience.

Let’s recall that the official opening of the III International Calligraphy Exhibition will take place at 15:00 on the 10th of September on the stage in front of the main pavilion, and from the 1st to 9th of September in Yaroslav's Court will work presentation pavilion, where you can already get acquainted with some copies of masterpieces.
