Calligraphy in the Pope’s chancellery

The permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See to the Russian Federation Apostolic Nuncio Antonio Mennini accepted the team of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy in the Vatican chancellery in Moscow. Most Reverend allowed time in his tight schedule to personally meet the project initiator Alexey Shaburov. The MVK team received a hospitable reception. Monsignor Visvaldas Kulbokas, the First Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature to Russia, watched a film about the exhibition and appreciated the profound mission of the project. In the course of the talks they touched upon the sacral calligraphy which will be displayed at the exhibition in Velikiy Novgorod. Visvaldas Kulbokas remembered Barbara Calzolari, the Pope’s personal calligrapher, to arrive at the exhibition in Moscow. Monsignor Kulbokas approved of the project’s significance and expressed confidence in the project’s success outside Russia.

After all, the representatives of the Holy See were presented the souvenirs from the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy.
