Master-class from the true master of calligraphy

December 13, 2008

Today the organizers of the exposition in the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy prepared something else – today the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Union of Calligraphers Petr Chobitko, who is the creator of the first in Russia handwritten variant of the Constitution gave his master-class.

Petr Chobitko, who has been studying the history of fonts for 35 years already, had much to say to his listeners. A huge crowd of people gathered in the cozy atmosphere clearly proved that Mr. Chobitko was not suffering from the lack of attention. The lecture was about the gammas of calligraphy – the basis of this neat art – where everyone could feel himself closer to the beautifu; art of calligraphy. And understanding of the fact that in front of you there was sitting a man who got his experience not simply reading the books, but a man who in five months and using only the paper and inks, created the first in Russia handwritten Constitution of the Russian Federation. This deepened the interest to what was happening at the stage.

It only remains to thank the organizers for the festival of letters and beauty which warmed our hearts on a cold December day.
