The Novgorod Kremlin’s Birch-barks of the 11-14th centuries are delivered to Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy

We hardly believed it would happen but on November 16 the Novgorod-placed monumental ancient Russian manuscripts have been delivered to Sokolniki, Museum and Education Complex.

Birch-bark manuscripts presentation is a joint project of Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and the State Novgorod United Museum-Reserve.

The masterpieces can be seen at the one-day exhibition today from 14.00 to 20.00. Beside the birch-barks the Four Gospels, a book of 1575 will also be displayed.
