In March 2010 Dubai hosted region's International exhibition of contemporary art. The exhibition was a big success featuring 70 galleries from over 30 countries.
Founded in 2007 Art Dubai is already counted among world's most prominent art fares. Its mission reaches beyond promoting Arab, Iranian and other regional arts. Art Dubai is a meeting point for artists, collectors, gallerists and art project managers.
The exhibition was held under the patronage of UAE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development. Art Dubai 2010 Committee was presided over by His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Chairman of the Patrons of Art Dubai 2010.
The event included a presentation of International Calligraphy Exhibition. The project was presented to His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais by one of today's most noted calligraphers Nja Mahdaoui, a member of the International Jury of the Arts Prize of UNESCO and a participant of the project. His Excellence was also presented with a two volume catalogue listing over 500 works by leading calligraphers from 33 countries.
