On December 28, 2009 the Project Director of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, Alexey Shaburov, held a meeting with the Governor of the Novgorod Region Sergey Mitin. The governor endorsed the idea of the project being organized in Velikiy Novgorod and expressed readiness to head the Organizing Committee. Mr. Mitin was quoted saying that the International Exhibition of Calligraphy which will take place at Yaroslav’s Court, is to become the event of the year for the city. The exhibition will be held from September 10 till September 12, 2010. The basic exposition is to be displayed in the unique mobile pavilion with an exhibition area covering 1, 200 sq.m. The pavilion will be erected purposefully for the event. The event programme promises to be highly topical including live performances of the renowned calligraphers, a trade fair and a plethora of pleasant surprises for the residents and guests of Velikiy Novgorod.
