The ceremony dedicated to the results of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy in Velikiy Novgorod and the opening of the National School of Calligraphy has taken place in Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy.
A one-day exhibition of the birch-bark manuscripts and the Four Gospels from the Novgorod State United Museum-Reserve was held.
S. Arkhangelov, Vice-President of ICOM Russia; N. Lomakin, prefect of Eastern Administrative Okrug of Moscow; A. Kasyanov, Head of Sokolniki District; A. Zemlyak, First Deputy Mayor of Velikiy Novgorod; P. Chobitko, President of the National Union of Calligraphers etc. attended the event.
Alexey Shaburov, Director of Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held one more effective presentation. The guests were following the history of the Exhibition in Velikiy Novgorod. Video materials were shown with some new exhibits of the Museum to be found out.
A master-class with Yuri Koverdayev, the School curator has been carried out for guests and medias after the presentation.
On November 18 at 14.00 the School will be officially opened. Yuri Koverdayev will hold master-classes for school students. Signing-up the lessons will also take place.
