V.I.P.-Guests of the Yaroslav’s Court Stationed Exhibition Pavilions

The III International Exhibition of Calligraphy in V. Novgorod was attended by a great number of very important persons. Beside the acknowledged masters of calligraphy from Russia and CIS, arrived under the invitation of Alexei Shaburov, the Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, world famous calligraphers and painters from other countries also visited the exhibition. Master classes for were held by Georgia Angelopoulos (Canada, Greece), Hassan Makaremi (France, Iran), Kim Jong-Chil (Rep. of Korea), Manohar Vitthal Desai (India), Michel D`Anastasio (France), Karin Bauer (Germany), Borghild Telnes and Bas Vlam (Norway), Yoshida Yoshiko (Japan).

Novgorod and Novgorod Region top officials saw the Exhibition. Novgorod Mayor Y. Bobryshev was the first to examine exhibits. He visited the pavilion on September 7, 2010. It was three days prior the official opening. Having examined the exhibition and authorized its work he shared his impressions with journalists.

On September 9, Yuri Bobryshev Mayor, Sergey Mitin, Governor of the Novgorod Region and Leo, the Lord, Archbishop of Novgorod and Old Russia have arrived together They were marching towards the Yaroslav's Court stationed main exhibition hall as if three heroes.

The officials were pleased the Exhibition. Governor even stayed for a master-class with Petr Chobitko, President of the National Union of Calligraphers. On a sheet of paper Sergei Gerasimov wrote "The Great Novgorod - Motherland Russia". A day later Governor once again visited the Exhibition, and gave a thanksgiving diploma to A. Shaburov Project General Manager in the presence of several hundred spectators.

The Exhibition was attended by Valery Gergiev, Artistic director of the Mariinsky Theatre. It was on September 12, when the pavilion nearly finished its work.

World known conductor came to V. Novgorod for a few hours to lead the concert. But after receiving a catalog of the III International Calligraphy Exhibition when at the press conference the maestro decided to visit the Exhibition.

He was the last visitor of the Exhibition in the territory of the Russian Federation. Some time later, Valery Gergiev has taken Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the Mariinsky Theatre.

 





 

The III International Exhibition of Calligraphy in triumph completes its work in Russia. Afterwards we are going to conquer Europe in 2011!
