New acquisitions of the Contemporary museum of calligraphy

The Contemporary museum of calligraphy’s exposition was recently added by the works of famous calligraphers. First of all, nine calligraphy works by Salavat Gilyazetdinov were deposited to our Museum, including the “Epistle” and “Wanderer’s Prayer”, made with oil paint on hand-made fabric paper, as well as the paintings from the series “100 beautiful names” written with gouache.

Well, now we have the immortal lines by William Shakespeare. Elena Epstein-Orlova has donated to the Museum the 2nd and 5th sonnets of the great poet made on colored paper. She also gave us the “I will miss you” art work.

One more unusual piece to add our collection is a reprint of the “Kiev Psalter of 1397”. But the most significant arrival was a collection of 26 works by an outstanding artist, calligrapher, People's Artist of USSR, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Ilya Bogdesko. Among the artpieces by Ilya Bogdesko are two books: “The Purse with Two Coppers” and “Meşterul Manole”.
